International Day of Older Persons 2025

October 1st

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, we wish to honor all older people in our society, especially those who are too often isolated.

On October 1st and 2nd, the action “As Simple as a Flower”, coordinated by the association SamenToujours and supported by the be.Source Foundation, will blossom across Brussels: more than 6,000 flowers will be distributed to raise awareness among passersby and invite them to share these flowers with older people in their neighborhood. A simple but essential way to remind us that every older person deserves attention, respect, and recognition.

And you, to whom will you offer a flower ?

Think of your parents, your grandparents, your neighbors… pay them a visit to give them a flower and spend a quality moment together. Together, let’s make this week a collective momentum of solidarity.
